Wednesday at the Waterfall

BRASSWORKS QUINTET Concert at the CazSonoma Inn on June 4th:
Wednesday at the Waterfall - an evening in the Redwoods with friends sharing ideas, music, art, wine and food to benefit Cazadero Performing Arts Camp.
Enjoy a concert, a lecture, an art exhibition, and a fabulous dinner and wine tasting, all in one evening! CazSonoma Inn owners Rich and Renee Mitchell host a unique series called Wednesday at the Waterfall, and the Brassworks Quintet is once again providing the music for the first of this year’s evening soirees.
UC Berkeley environmental design professor, author and and political scientist Arthur Blaustein will be giving a timely lecture entitled “Handicapping the Horse Race: The Candidates, Issues and Stakes.” Artist Pam Lewis (see http://www.gratongallery.com/artists/pam_lewis.html) will showcase her current exhibit, “Pam’s Americana.” Sommeliers Mat and Barb Gustafson of Paul Mathew Vineyards (http://www.paulmathewvineyards.com/) will offer a tasting of their top quality wines, and the chef at the Inn will prepare a fabulous feast for all. To top it off, the Brassworks Quintet will present a concert on the theme, “Campaign Promises.” The lecture begins at 5:00PM; concert, art exhibition, wine tasting and dinner will follow.
Your $50 admission will benefit Cazadero Performing Arts Camp to provide memorable musical experiences to hundreds of kids each summer. SRRC Historical Ball

BRASSWORKS BAND Featured at Santa Rosa Historical Ball on July 19th:
Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery will present its first ever HISTORICAL BALL on the evening of Saturday, July 19th, 2008. Enjoy dinner, dancing and entertainment from 6:30 to 10:30PM on the grounds of the McDonald Mansion, a National Historic Landmark located at 1020 McDonald Avenue in beautiful Santa Rosa - see http://www.mcdonaldmansion.com/ for details including a map and photos.
For $100 per person, you will have a night to remember, with waltzes, reels, rags and early jazz by The Brassworks Band with Dance Masters James & Cathleen Myers of PEERS, a Royal Feast prepared by Johnny Garlic’s, a silent auction of historical items, and many more surprises throughout the evening!
The years represented will be 1830-1930, so please come dressed in your favorite finery from this timeframe.

The Heat of Summer Ball

BRASSWORKS plays The HEAT OF SUMMER BALL in OAKLAND on July 26th:
Dress up, dress down, go Victorian, Fantasy or casual - just make sure you get to our next big Friday Night Waltz event at Oakland Veterans Hall!
The Brassworks Band will perform for The Heat of Summer Waltz Ball on Saturday night, July 26th. We will perform our warmest Waltzes, our wildest Polkas, and our hottest Latin and Swing numbers, to keep the Summer heat going late into the night.
Dance classes are held at 7:00 and 8:00, and The Brassworks Band plays from 9:00 until Midnight. Admission is just $13 (just $8 for students with I.D.) for the entire evening.
The location is Oakland’s fabulous Veterans Hall Ballroom, A.K.A. Lake Merritt Dance Center, 200 Grand Avenue at Harrison, at the tip of Lake Merritt. It boasts a 3500 square foot hardwood dance floor, a huge stage, great acoustics, and plenty of parking in the large lot.
